In contrast to the ordinary Tundra Bean Geese, this quite big, dark gray-brown goose has orange legs and a varied orange patch on the beak. The Graylag Goose and Pink-footed Goose's contrasting pale forewing regions are absent when in flight. Taiga bean-geese often have longer, more sloping bills than Tundra bean-gooses, which have shorter, thicker bills that can sometimes be difficult to distinguish in the wild. It winters in fields, marshes, and taiga, easily interacting with other geese.
